Housing
- Pig housing system for high rainfall areas was developed. This system protects pigs from cold weather and easy run off of rainwater from the roof of the sty, thus avoiding water logging and related problems in the pig sty.
- Rabbit housing systems were developed for different production systems viz small-scale, medium-scale and commercial. Low cost housing systems were developed utilizing locally available materials
Reproduction & Feeding
- Standardized the Artificial Insemination Technology for pigs to suit the local conditions. Low cost semen collection, packing and insemination methods were developed, demonstrated and popularized in adjacent villages. A conception rate of 65-70% was achieved under field conditions.
- Developed ration with 40 -70% boiled sweet potato for pigs. Developed ration with under utilized crops like Job’s tears (Coix lachryma-Jobi) and buck wheat (Fagopyrum esculentum Moench) for weaner and grower pigs
