KVK-West Siang conducted Hands on Training Programme on value addition of ginger

A day long training programme has been organized by KrishiVigyan Kendra (KVK)-West Siang for farm women on 9th February’2016 at Basar. The programme was started with welcome address by Dr. R. Alone, I/C, Joint Director, ICAR-AP Centre and Dr. M.S. Baruah, I/C, PC of KVK-West Siang. The training coordinator Mrs. BharatiSaloi explained on “Value added ginger products-A mean for income generation of farm women”. Mrs. Saloi also emphasized on women empowerment in the society through development of agricultural enterprises and minimize the post-harvest losses of fruits and vegetables. She also guided the participants on value added products i.e Ginger pickle making. A total of 20 nos. participants were trained by her. All the participants were passionate to learn the technique of value addition of ginger.
