KVK West Siang Conducted farmers Training Programme under Plant Protection
KVK West Siang successfully conducted one day farmers training Programme at Chirne Village on 31st May, 2016. Dr. Kangabam Suraj S. SMS-Plant Protection briefly explained about “Identification and Management of Diseases and Insect Pests in Paddy”. The training programme was based on the Integrated Disease and Pest management in Paddy. He also mentioned various method of disease and pest management through cultural, mechanical, biological and chemical methods. He emphasized on the judicious use of chemical pesticide which is necessary to promote eco-friendly farming system in the District. A total of 39 rural youth, farm women and men participated. This training programme was appreciated by the farmers who informed that in this region paddy crop was damaged by many diseases and pests.
