KVK Longding in collaboration with Kanubari Forest Division celebrated World Environment Day - 2018 under the theme Beat Plastic Pollution
KVK Longding in collaboration with Kanubari Forest Division celebrated the World Environment Day on 5th June 2018 along with the rest of the world. Keeping in mind a popular saying that “Better environment award better tomorrow”.
The programme initiated with a plantation drive and disposal of plastic waste in and around Kanubari town. The programme was done under the leadership of Mr. Gerik Bagra, Sr. Scientist and Head (i/c) and Dr. Senpon Ngomle, SMS, Plant Protection, KVK Longding.
More than 50 participants were actively involved in the programme. The participants planted shade tree around the highway and cleaned the whole market area by collection waste and disposed it off. Speaking on the occasion ADC Kanubari Mr. Taro Mize emphasized the need of clean and green world for better tomorrow. He urgue the participants be a part of the solution, Not the part of the pollution.
Mr. Subu Hania, DFO Kanubari enlightened about the important of environment in our daily life and request the participants that this type of campaign should not be remain as symbolic, rather be integrated in every individual day to day life.
Mr. Gerik Bagra, Sr. Scientist and Head (i/c), KVK Longding spoke on the occasion and explained the house present about plastic pollution and its impact on human health, soil health and plant health.
