Today, 17th March, 2018, ICAR- Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), West Siang district has organized a programme to show the live telecast of Hon’ble PM of India, Shri. Narendra Modi speech on Television at ICAR-Trainees Hostel, Basar, Arunachal Pradesh. All together 58 nos. of participants including farmers, PRI members and officials from West Siang district were participated in the programme. The programme started with a welcome addressed by Mr. Debashis Datta, SMS (Agril. Extension), where he explained the gathering regarding objectives of the programme. After that Dr. R.A. Alone, Joint Director (I/C) of ICAR-Arunachal Pradesh Centre, Basar emphasized the importance of adopting scientific agricultural techniques for doubling farmers income by 2022. Later on a power point presentation by Dr. M.S. Baruah, ACTO (Animal Science) on creating awareness on petroleum conservation. Dr. K.S. Singh, SMS (PP) congratulated the farmers for successful completion of technology demonstration on IPM model covering 100 acres, it was followed by a presentation by Miss. W. Rekhung, Prog. Asst. (Soil Science) on techniques of soil sampling & importance of soil health card. The programme concluded with distribution of inputs to the farmers under NICRA-TDC project containing improved seeds of Kharif /summer vegetables.
