Visit of Union Minister of Agriculture to ICAR Research Complex at Goa
Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister of Agriculture, Government of India, visited ICAR Research Complex for Goa, Goa on 3rd August 2014. During the visit, he was appraised about the Institutional activities through exhibition of various technologies developed at the Institute. He visited the laboratories of the Institute and was explained about the ongoing research work. While launching ‘Soil Health Management - Goa’ website, he stressed upon dissemination of technologies for improving livelihood of the farmers. He also released two publications namely Annual Report of ICAR RC for Goa – 2013-14 and Handbook of Freshwater Aquaculture.
Shri Narendra Sawaikar, MP, South Goa, also accompanied the Minister and took keen interest in the activities of the institute. The dignitaries visited experimental farms, units and demonstration plots of the Institute and Krishi Vigyan Kendra (North Goa).
Dr. Narendra Pratap Singh, Director, ICAR Research Complex for Goa welcomed the Minister and made a brief presentation about the inception, research and extension activities of the Institute. The programme was attended by Scientists, Technical and Administrative Staff of the Institute and KVK staff of North & South Goa, State Government Officials, representatives of press and media, etc.
