Union Minister of Agriculture Visited CIRG

Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister of Agriculture visited Agriculture Farm and Technology Exhibition at Central Institute for Research on Goats, Makhdoom, Farah, Mathura today. He appreciated maintenance of elite flocks of different breeds of goats and expressed his satisfaction that institute is providing such improved animals to different stakeholders for improvement of goat breeds in the country. He also lauded different goat based technologies developed by the scientists of the institute. On this occasion, he addressed the scientists and staff of the institute and urged to conduct research on medicinal value of goat milk and urine. Further, he stressed on conservation and propagation of indigenous goats for the livelihood and nutritional security of rural poor people of the country. A DVD on “CIRG at a Glance” was released by Union Agriculture Minister.
Dr. Dheeraj Kumar, Director, DRMR Bharatpur and Dr. S.K. Dubey, Incharge, CSWCRTI, Chhalesar, Agra were also present.
Dr. S.K. Agarwal, Director, CIRG, Makhdoom briefed the progress and achievements accomplished by the institute. Dr. S.K. Jindal, Principal Scientist proposed vote of thanks.
