Training programme conducted by KVK Anjaw on “Identification of efficient marketing system for proper disposal of produce agriculture and horticulture crops”.
A one day training programme on“Identification of efficient marketing system for proper disposal of produce agricultural crops” was conducted at the Tafraliang village (Metengliang circle) under KVK, Anjaw on 26th August, 2015. Altogether 40 farmers were participated and all of them were women under Syadu Self Help Groups. Subject Matter Specialist, Miss.Rebecca Eko (Horticulture) delivered the welcome address and suggested the village's specially women to grow vegetable crop as there is very less production and high demand of vegetables in the district.
Mr. S. Peter Singh SMS, Social Sciences, coordinator of the training programme highlighted the importance of marketing, its problems and strategies. He addresses the farmers to awareness about the poor marketing system and infrastructure, especially for large cardamom and oranges which are the important crops of the district. Moreover, due to involvement of large number of intermediaries in the marketing channel, farmers are not getting remunerative price of their produces. Therefore, setting up a co-operative marketing society at village and district level would be an effective option to protect the interest and enhance the income of the farmers, he expressed.
Mr. Naveen Khoisnam, SMS, Agronomy, share the importance of cereals and pulse crop in the district. He encourages the farm women, rural youth and farmers go for cultivation in group approach, he added.
