Training cum method demonstration by KVK West Siang

A day long training cum demonstration was conducted on 26th September, 2016 by KVK West Siang, ICAR A.P-Centre, Basar at Daring circle of West Siang District for selected progressive farmers from six villages namely Padi I, Padi II, Jirdo Jimi, Old Daring, New Daring and Tapo. All together 64 participants including 37 female, 17 male farmers and 10 extension functionaries were participated in the said programme.
The programme was initiated with the welcome address by Dr. L. Bagra, Veterinary Officer, Daring Circle who briefly explained about the needs of training and methods demonstration for overall development of the farming community. This was followed by the speech from the ZillaParishad Member, Mr. HengiRiba who appreciated the steps taken by the team of KVK West Siang and requested all the farmers to take the full advantage of the programme.
The technical section was started with the hands on training by Dr. Moloy Sarmah Baruah, Assistant Chief Technical Officer (Animal Science) of KVK, West Siang on the topic of “Breeds and breeding techniques for the improvement of pig production.” This was followed by another training programme by Dr. K. Suraj Singh, SMS, Plant Protection on the topic of “Insect pests and diseases management in citrus”. A technical film show session was also held between the training sessions.
After the theoretical sessionsa method demonstration was conducted on Bordeaux paste preparation and application in the farmers’ orange garden. The programme was concluded with an interaction and feedback between the farmers and resource persons.
