ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya organized Training Programme for Veterinary Officers, Government of Meghalaya

Division of Animal Health, ICAR Research Complex for NEH region, Umiam, Meghalaya organized five days training progamme on “Animal Health Management and Health Care” for Veterinary officers, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Govt. of Meghalaya from 5th - 9th August’ 2019. The training programme was sponsored by Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yogana (RKVY). A total of 29 nos. of Veterinary Officers from almost all Districts of Meghalaya participated in the programme. Both theory and practical sessions were covered during the programme. Most prevalent diseases of livestock and poultry in Meghalaya; antimicrobial resistance; occupational health hazard; bacterial, viral and parasitic diseases of livestock and poultry; conventional and molecular diagnostic techniques etc were covered during the training programme. The valedictory programme was graced by Dr. N. Prakash, Director, ICAR Research Complex for NEH, Umiam, Meghalaya; Dr C. Shilla, Director, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Govt. of Meghalaya; Dr. W. Ryngkhlem, Joint Director (Admn.); Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Govt. of Meghalaya and Dr. G.M.R.K. Marak, Joint Director (AHP), Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Govt. of Meghalaya on 9th August’2019. The training programme was coordinated by Dr. A. Sen (HOD & Principal Scientist), Dr. R. Laha (Principal Scientist), Dr. S. Ghatak (Principal Scientist), Dr. Meena Das (Senior Scientist), Dr. S. Das (Scientist), Dr. R. Sanjukta (Scientist), Dr. A.A.P. Milton (Scientist), Dr. R. Pegu (Research Associate), Dr. L. Dkhar (YP-II) and other staffs of the division.
