KVK WEST SIANG IMPARTED TRAINING ON INTEGRATED NUTRIENT MANAGEMENT IN MAIZE FOR SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION

A training on “Integrated Nutrient Management in Maize for Sustainable Production” was conducted by KVK West Siang, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, A. P. Centre, Basar at Regi Village on 12th June, 2015. Shri A. Kirankumar Singh, i/c Programme Coordinator delivered his lecture through interaction with the participants prevailing to the local situations, problems and prospects of improvement in production and productivity of maize. Shri Singh stressed the importance of kharif maize for income generation to improve their livelihood by sustaining the production of maize. The farmers were enthusiastically participated in interaction for successful management of soil fertility with the use locally available materials. During the training programme, Dr K. Suraj Singh delivered his lecture on “Important Insect Pests and Diseases of Rice and Their Control Measures” followed by thorough discussion on different ITKs used locally by the farmers since time immemorial. Shri Ps Rolling Anal, Technical Officer (Agromet) also shared his views on different issues related to Weather Parameters and Their Impact on Crops” . Shri Debasis Datta, SMS (Agril. Extn.) also shared his views on different social issues related to production and productivity enhancement of the crop. Shri Karyom Bam, SRF (TDCNICRA) also participated in the interaction session.
