Training on ‘Strengthening, Formation & Functions of Women Based SHGs of Anjaw District’ held at KVK Anjaw.
It is an unwritten law that in a poor family that when someone has to starve it is invariably the woman of the house. So to uplift the living standard of the women and to make them self-reliant to support their families, an on-campus training programme title “Strengthening, Formation & Functions of Women Based SHGs of Anjaw District” was conducted by ICAR KVK Anjaw on 20th August 2018. Altogether 30 farm women from amliang & chirang villages attended the training programme. Mr. Kh. Naveen, SMS Agronomy welcomed & briefed the gathering about the activities of KVK Anjaw.
The Course Co-ordinator Ms Rebecca Eko, SMS Horticulture aware the farm women about the concept of Self Help Groups, its formation, function and importance. She gave a detail power point presentation in pictorial form citing different examples. She also emphasized that the economically homogenous affinity groups should voluntarily come together for its formation. Further she provided technical support for the formation of women SHGs of Amliang & Chirang and assured to provide need based training & planting materials. The occasion was also graced by Mr. S. Bhattacharjee, ADO from State Agriculture department, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, who also assured to provide seeds & planting materials to the women SHGs for their uplifment.
Last but not the least, a progressive women farmer Mrs. Ajimlu Bellai from Tafraliang village also graced as a resource person. She shared her experience, activities & achievements carried out by her women SHG named “SYADU” in the local dialect (Mishmi) of Anjaw district, for a better understanding to the participants. She also thanked KVK Anjaw & the Agriculture department for their continuous support. Later on the participants were made acquainted with the different technologies & activities carried out in KVK premises.
