Training Programme conducted on “Livelihood Improvement of Tribal Farmers through Technological Empowerment and Input Support”
One-day training programme on “Livelihood Improvement of Tribal Farmers through Technological Empowerment and Input Support” has been successfully organized under Tribal Sub Plan at on 31st March 2018 under the dynamic leadership and guidance of Dr. Homeswar Kalita, Joint Director, ICAR AP Centre, Basar, Arunachal Pradesh. Farmers were addressed and benefitted with distribution of organic inputs like Copper oxychloride, Neem based insecticides and Knapsack sprayers by the Chief Guest, Sh. Jonia Basar, ZPM and Dr. Manish Kanwat, Sr. Scientist and Head, KVK Anjaw. Technical session and field related questions were covered by Dr. Anup Chandra, Scientist (Agril. Entomology) wherein he made the farmers aware about the importance of Copper oxychloride in organic method of disease management and role of Neem based insecticide in insect pest management in rice, vegetables and horticultural crops. Farmers were also made aware about the safety measures to be followed in spraying of pesticides along with techniques of using the knapsack sprayer. In addition, lectures were also delivered on application of the novel technology of Gundhi-bug traps, Process and Procedures in Vermicomposting and insect-pest management of the major crops of the area. A total of forty four numbers of farmers were benefitted with technological knowledge as well as distribution of agricultural inputs.
