Farmers training and input distribution programme under Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) at Bomdila by ICAR Arunachal Pradesh Centre, Basar

 

A two days Farmers training cum input distribution programme on Mushroom production technology and Kiwifruit cultivation was organized by ICAR Arunachal Pradesh Centre, Basar in collaboration with Gangri Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd., Bomdila under Tribal Sub-Plan on 17th and 18th of March 2016 at Pedung and Sera Village respectively. In the inaugural programme, the Joint Director, ICAR Arunachal Pradesh Centre, Dr. R. Bhagawati addressed the gathering and explained how different agricultural by-products can be recycled for different income generating activities. He trained the farmers as a resource person for Mushroom production with hands on training on Oyster mushroom production technology assisted by Shri. A. Robindro Singh (Technical Asst.). In Kiwifruit production technology, training on different aspects on planting, layout, training and pruning, thinning of fruit for quality fruit production were delivered by Shri. Thejangulie Angami, Scientist (Horticulture).

Further, after the training programme, there was a Farmers Scientists interaction session to clarify all the doubts of the farmers and encourage them to go for commercial production of Mushroom and Kiwifruit which are most prospective enterprise in those villages. Altogether in both training around 200 farmers took part and 3000 nos. of Kiwifruit seedlings and 20 kg of Mushroom spawn along with other kits were distributed to all the participants under TSP programme of ICAR, AP Centre, Basar through Chairman Shri. RinjinTsering and General Secy. Shri.Lobsang Genchen, Gangri Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd. Bomdila. All the participants responded positively with enthusiastic and expressed satisfaction over the pain taken by the Joint Director and Scientist of ICAR, AP Centre, Basar to visit and reaching out the most remote localities to trained them in such income generating activities.
