ICAR conducts training on oyster mushroom cultivation

 

Basar, May 15: A two day’s training on oyster mushroom cultivation was organized by ICAR, Basar under Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) on 14th -15th May.

Altogether, 50 trainees from different parts of West Siang and Upper Subansiri district participated in the training.

Training was inaugurated by Dr. Rajesh A. Alone, Joint Director-i/c of the centre, in his inaugural speech he motivated trainees to adopt new technologies and appealed the participants to make good use of the knowledge and skills acquired during training. He also appealed the participants to share the skill learnt during the training with fellow friends so that mushroom cultivation can be made to percolate down to one and all.

Raghuveer Singh, Scientist (Plant Pathology), delivered a lecture on “Oyster mushroom cultivation” and its importance, details of package of practices. The trainees were trained practically on oyster mushroom cultivation. They were also made acquainted with the different machineries and equipments available in the mushroom spawn production laboratory.

This programme was technically assisted by Sikimoni Baruah, B. Pait and Rabindra Singh.

Mushroom literatures, spawns and poly bags were provided to the trainees.
