Training programme for economic empowerment of women held at Tafraling village, Anjaw.

 

Training on empowerment of women was organizing at Tafraling village from 30th June to 1st July 2016, by CDPO, Hayuliang Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh.  The programme started with welcome note by Smti. G. Karlo supervisor CDPO Hayuliang.

Mr. Abray Manyu, ZPM Hayuliang, Chief gust of the programme, enlighten the farm women to actively take part in various programme conducted by different state and central government or any other agency including NGO, those who are working for the larger interest of farmers, especially on aspect of women empowerment. He exhorted that Gram Panchyat of village should always keep in touch with line department of Agri and Allied Dept. to percolate the development activities proposed for farmer to grassroots level. 

Mr. S. Longling, CDPO, Hayuliang. He highlighted the overall objective of the training programme and exhorted that women are the backbone of rural society though their name might not appear in forefront in public figure but real development start with women in rural society. He encourages the women to act as a role model in bringing the agriculture and allied product in market from its own farm produce. So that money can circulate within the district instead of siphoning money to nearby district. Further he advise the women to work in group dynamic  by forming Self Help group and Farmer club for better and efficient manpower management during carrying out any development activities for the greater interest of community as a whole.   

Mr. Khoisnam Naveen, SMS (Agronomy) KVK Anjaw, resource person, aware the farmers about the sweet corn maize variety along with its benefits. During the programme he delivered a concise lecture on the critical aspects of crop production of sweet corn and soybean with special reference to value addition of sweet corn for increasing farm income as well as rural livelihood of the farm women.  He further informed the farmer about the benefits and importance of soil testing as well as Soil Health Card.

Ms. Rebecca Eko SMS (Horticulture), KVK Anjaw, resource person delivered a lecture on Value Addition on Fruits crops. She narrated that fruits are very perishable in nature and leads to severe post harvest losses during its surplus production. So she asked to go for value addition of fruits to provide an alternative source of income generation for the women folk. She also gave detailed information on preservation and value addition techniques. Citing the women SHG named ‘SYADU’ of Tafraliang village as an example, she also asked the women folk of other villages to start home scale processing unit.

Dr. Tilling Tayo SMS (Animal Science) KVK, Anjaw, resource person delivered a lecture on Broiler farming for sustainable income generation for farmwomen through power point presentation. He encourages the women to go for broiler farming, till date no any broiler farm have established in entire Anjaw district. So, supply of broiler meat is completely depend on Tezu and Tinsukia, whereas it must be produce within Anjaw district to supply the demand in market. He said that still the economic importance of broiler farming is untapped in Anjaw district. Any interested Self help group or any individual farmers can start the broiler farming as KVK Anjaw have technical backstopping for broiler farming.  The programme concluded with vote of than by Gaon Bura of Tafraliang village and appreciated the CDPO, Hayuliang for organizing women centric training programme. Altogether 68 women have participated the said training programme.
