Training Programe on Promotion of Rabi Maize and Frenchbean Cultivation in Rice Fellow of Mizoram under TSP at Bhuchangphai Village, Kolasib

ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region Mizoram Centre organized training programme on “Promotion of rabi maize and frenchbean cultivation in rice fellows of Mizoram” under TSP at Bhuchangphai Village, Kolasib in 27th October, 2016. Altogether 120 farmers from Bhuchangphai Village participated in this training programme. Most of the land lords are staying in Aizawl, they send their representor for this training programme. Pu Lalpianama (Village Agriculture member), Mr. Arif Uddin (Village Agriculture member), Dr. Saurav Saha, Scientist (Agricultural Physics); Mr. Samik Chowdhury, Technical Officer (GKMS) and Mr. P. Lalhmachhuana (Junior Research Fellow, NMSHE) attended the programme. Dr. Saurav Saha, Scientist (Agricultural Physics) had paid a warm welcome to all the participants. Pu Lalpianama inaugurated the training programme. Mr. Arif Uddin emphasized the importance of rabi maize and frenchbean cultivation in rice fellows to fetch more farm income for the tribal farmers of Mizoram. Mr. Samik Chowdhury, Technical Officer (GKMS) has given a vote of thanks. Concern scientist and technical officer gave subjective lectures. 10kg maize seed (RCM 76) and 5 kg frenchbean (MZFB 48) has been distributed to each participants. Finally after lunch Dr. Saurav Saha, Mr. Arif Uddin, Samik Chowdhury and Mr. Lalhmachhuana gave field demonstration on the sowing operation and other cultivation practices for maize and frenchbean crop in the rice fellows of Bhuchangphai Village, Kolasib.
