Swachhta Pakhwada conducted in Hayuliang town, Anjaw district.
On 16th of October, 2016 the Krishi Vigyan Kendra Anjaw in collaboration with District Administration celebrated Swachhta Pakhwada in the Hayuliang Town. Keeping in mind a popular saying that “Cleanliness is next to godliness” the Swachhta Pakhwada programme was conducted in and around of Hayuliang town, especially the market area under the leadership of Senior Scientist & Head, KVK Anajw Dr. Manish Kanwat.
More than 50 participants were actively involved in that programme to initiate the cleaning campaign in the town locality. In joint venture with District Administration Dr. T. Ete, CO with his team, Sh. M.N. Singhpho Block Development, Hayuliang, Sh. R.K. Singh, Junior Engineer, PWD, Hayuliang, Sh. Soitailum Manyu Market Secretary and KVK Staffs were also actively participated in this programme. The participants cleaned the whole of market area by collecting the waste materials and disposed off at outer part of the town. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kanwat lauded the mission started by our Hon’ble Prime Minister two years back and emphasized on the need of cleanliness at all levels for healthy mind and body leading to good health, higher work efficiency and for overall national development. He also stressed on both internal as well as external cleanliness of everyone and its relevance. He urged that this campaign should not remain just symbolic, rather be integrated in every individual’s day-to-day life. He also offered his thanks to the crowed involved in this clean drive and make the event successful. During this event C.O., Hayuliang Sh. T. Ete offered his thanks to all the stakeholders who actively participated in this campaign and urged everyone to keep their surroundings clean. He recalled the great teachings of Mahatma Gandhi with respect to cleanliness and advised all to maintain the spirit of cleanliness in all spheres of life. During this campaign he issued the instructions to the PWD Engineer to improve the existing drainage system in town on priority basis to avoid the water stagnation and checked the breeding of insects. At the end of the programme, the district administration distributed free T-shirts to the 30 participants as an encouragement.
