Training cum Awareness Programme on “Soil Health Assessment”
One day farmers training cum awareness programme on “Soil Health Assessment” was organized in the Nongkynrih village of West Jaintia Hills District by Division of Natural Resource Management (Soil Science), ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umroi Road, Umiam in collaboration with KVK Jaintia Hills, Jowai,West Jaintia Hills under TSP on 16th February, 2017. Twenty five farmers were participated in this programme, where training related to importance of soil health, soil health assessment, use of “Rapid Soil Health Testing Kit” etc. were given by the resource persons (scientist form ICAR-RC-NEH, Umiam and SMSs from KVK Jaintia Hills). During the programme, two “Rapid Soil Health Testing Kit” were also distributed to the farmers.
