Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel and MLA of Narsinghpur (Madhya Pradesh) Jalam Singh Patel visited ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region Manipur Centre, Lamphelpat Imphal on 5th April 2016 to see the various activities taken up by the Centre.
During the visit Hon’ble MP and MLA visited the different research labs and the Exhibition Hall of the centre. Hon’ble MP Shri Prahlad Singh Patel appreciated the efforts and dedication of the scientists for developing various improved varieties of Rice and Tomato and farmer friendly technologies like RC Seed Bin. He also appreciated the scientists for making effort in making value added products of the locally available indigenous crops. Hon’ble MP assured to raise the issue of soil acidity of the state and for providing subsidy in Agricultural Lime used to check soil acidity in the state and North East Region as a whole.
Hon’ble MP also says that North East has a rich biodiversity and uniqueness in agriculture where a lot of exploration and recognition can be made. He also appraise about the importance and focus given by the central government for uplifment and development of the North East Region.
