Training on “Scientific Cultivation of Kiwi Fruit” & Input Distribution under NEC Project.
On 24th June 2018, ICAR KVK Anjaw conducted a one day training programme on “Scientific Cultivation of Kiwi Fruit” at Chota kundan village. The village is located at 97˚1’38” E latitude, 28˚14’7” N longitude & at an altitude of 1352 m amsl & is a lush green small village at Walong circle, Anjaw District. The course co-ordinator Ms. Rebecca Eko, SMS Horticulture welcome the crowd and briefed the gathering about the importance of organizing this training. She discussed in brief the cultivation practices such as use of good quality planting materials, intercropping, nutrient management, proper training & pruning and soil health management for commercial kiwi production in the region. Further she elaborated the use of bio-fertilizers, bio-insecticides, etc. to the farmers. A total of around 26 beneficiaries (both farmers & farm women) of different villages of Walong circle i.e. Chota kundan, Bara kundan, Dhanbari, Messai, Yakung, Kaho & Kibithoo under ICAR AP Centre, Basar funded NEC project were benefitted with the technical know-how & the remaining inputs i.e. bio-fertilizers, bio-insecticides, etc. were also distributed.
