Dr.S.Ayyappan Secretary, DARE & Director General, ICAR visited the Sasya Shyamala KVK (SSKVK), RKMVU, the additional KVK for the district of South 24Parganas, West Bengal on 2 December, 2014.
Dr. Ayyappan conveyed his best wishes to all the staff members on the eve of completion of one year of the KVK. He appreciated the activities of the KVK and asked to collect up to date information about the district He also advised to conduct training and awareness programmes on agriculture and allied vocation for the teachers and school children, organize meeting, workshops with the KVK staff of nearby districts through ring concept.
He visited the Instructional Farm of the KVK, interacted with Vice Chancellor of RKMVU Swami Atmapriyananda, Vice Chairman of Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) of SSKVK, Swami Shivapurnananda, Programme Co-ordinator Dr. N. C. Sahu, Subject Matter Specialists (SMSs) and other staff members of the KVK.
Dr. N. C. Sahu, Programme Co-ordinator presented the achievements of the KVK before him.
Swami Atmapriyananada proposed to establish a museum covering all aspects of agriculture.
