Swachh Bharat Abhiyan 2nd October 2014 observed at ICAR RC NEH Region Manipur Centre, Imphal
ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, Imphal observed the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan programme on 2nd October 2014. All scientists including Joint Director, KVK Programme coordinator, technician, SMS, supporting staff and others actively participated in the programme. The programme started at 8:00 AM with the taking of ‘Swachhta Shapath’ (Cleanliness Pledge) read by the Joint Director Dr. N. Prakash (both in Hindi and English). After the pledge, all the staff cleaned the roads, corridors, garden, gate, boundary walls and other places in and around the campus. All the staff actively participated in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan irrespective of category men and women. The staff resolves to devote at least 100 hours in a year to maintain cleanliness in and around the centre. As part of the cleanliness drive it was also decided to dedicate every Friday from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM toward accomplishing the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan programme. The programme was also observed in all the five ICAR KVK’s under ICAR-RC, Manipur Centre viz. Imphal West, Chandel, Churachandpur, Tamenglong and Ukhrul.
