Report on One day Joint Director meeting cum official visit to ICAR RC NEH, Arunachal Pradesh Centre, Basar, 1st November, 2018
ICAR, Basar 1st November 2018: The quarterly Joint Director meeting cum official visit of ICAR RC NEH, Umiam was held on 1st November, 2018 at ICAR RC NEH, Arunachal Pradesh Centre, Basar. In the early morning hours, all dignitaries of ICAR RC NEH observed tree plantation infront of Trainee’s Hostel, ICAR Research Farm, Arunachal Pradesh Centre, Basar. The planting of trees was initiated by Dr. N. Prakash, Director, ICAR RC NEH, Umiam followed by Dr. D. J. Rajkhowa, Joint Director, ICAR Nagaland, Dr. B. K. Kandpal, Joint Director, ICAR Tripura, Dr. I. Shakuntala, Joint Director, ICAR Mizoram, Dr. H. Kalita, Joint Director, ICAR Arunachal Pradesh, Dr. T. Samajdar, Nodal officer, KVK, ICAR, Umiam, Shri. Parimal Ghosh, AO (G) ICAR, Umiam, Shri P. Kumar, Senior FAO, ICAR, Umiam, Shri S. R. Baruah, AO (P) ICAR, Umiam and Shri K. Kulshreshtha, CAO, ICAR, Umiam. After tree planting session, they visited Horticulture orchard, vermicomposting unit, poultry, integrated farming system model, Forestry, Soil Science, Agronomy, Animal husbandry, Seed production, Entomology, Agro-meteorology and Plant breeding blocks. Then, Dr. N. Prakash distributed piglets, birds along with feeds and medicines to 5 farmers under Tribal Sub-Plan. After this programme, all dignitaries moved ahead to visit the KVK Institutional Farm, Bam, West Siang, ICAR Arunachal Pradesh. There, they interacted with the Project Co-ordinator and all KVK staff members and opined some valuable suggestions for its effective functioning. At the end, an interaction session was organized between the Director and Joint Directors of respective ICAR Centre and staff members of ICAR Arunachal Pradesh Centre. In the discussion, solutions of problems were suggested for the smooth functioning of the centre. In an all, the official visit was concluded with admiration and applause for the functioning and maintenance of ICAR Arunachal Pradesh Centre, Basar ICAR, Basar even if located in the remotest of place.
