KVK Anjaw Successfully Organized Farmers Fair Cum Awareness programme on Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna

 

The Pradahan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna was successfully organized at Chief Minster’s constituency Community Hall, Hayuliang, Anjaw, Arunachal Pradesh on 18th June, 2016. Altogether 250 farmers including dignitaries were witnessed the programme organized by KVK Anjaw. The complete programme was divided into two part i.e. Ist session will focused on PMFBY schemes and IInd Farmers Scientist Interaction Programme.

First Session programme was began with the welcome address of Dr. Manish Kanwat, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK Anjaw, he briefed out the paramount importance of the PMFBY schemes, he also emphasis that how the Central Government taken the interest to provide the financial security to the farmers through this schemes. He also expressed gratefulness to Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the programme Smt. M. Riba, Smti Toggual Pertin, District Agricultural Officer, District Horticulture Officer, Learned Professors of College of Horticulture & Forestry Dr. M.M. Kumwat, (Entomologist) and Dr. Sanjeev Kumar (Agroforestry), Shri. Taylo ZPM Chaklagam, Shri Chonulum Tindiya, Metengliang, ASM-Chair-person, Mr. S.Basanta, principal VKV, Amliang, District Fishery Development Officer, ADOs’, Farmers, Farm Women, School Dropout, Rural Youth and Students. He also asked the farmers to interact with resource person and discuss the problem facing during the farming can be resolved through scientific interventions. On this occasion a booklet on PMFBY schemes was released by Hon’ble Deputy Commissioner Smti. M.Riba for the propose of providing clear picture about the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna.

After released the booklet Dr. Manish Kanwat, discussed the PMFBY scheme through presentation covers objectives, mandates, eligibility, steps and their procedure to avail insurance from financial institution and protect their crop from nay natural calamity.  

Shri Taylo ZPM Chaklagam, asked the farmers to explore the opportunity to learn the new agro-techniques from the scientists of KVK and CHF, Passighat and he also urge to KVK Anjaw to validate the local traditional practices and modify according to the farmers need.  He also mentioned that PMFBY schemes will become the boon for the farmers who lost their crops because of natural calamities etc.

Shri. Chonulum Tindiya, Metengliang ASM Chairperson, called the farmers to adopt best farm practices with suitable technological options recommended by the KVK and ICAR RC for NEH region Scientists for enhancing productivity of the district.

Smti Toggul Pertin, Dao, Hawai asked the farmers to insure their crop under PMFBY, as NDA Government has launched this schemes for farmers to mitigate the loss incurred during any foreseen natural calamities that result in destruction of standing crop. However to avail from scheme everyone must update their land records and pay the premium on time to gain the benefits during natural calamities. She also asked the bank personal to cooperate and guide the farmers to get the benefits under this scheme.

Principal VKV Mr S. Basanta laminated that it is the great beginning of Anjaw district by developing awareness on PMFBY towards sustainable development of Agri and Allied filed by KVK Anjaw and he also appreciated the sincere efforts of KVK staff and he also encourage them to keep on rolling for the greater interest of farming community of Anjaw district in near future too.

During this Kisan Mela Deputy Commissioner, District Agriuclture officer, District Horticulture officer, District fishery Development officer, CHF scientists, Army Officials of 8th J&K Rifles also visited the Women SHGs stall, Farmers and Departmental exhibition stall and appreciated the exhibits displayed there. Farmers interacted with the staff of KVK Anjaw and took first hand information about the technologies displayed.

The post lunch session, started with Farmers Scientist Interaction programme, during this programme Dr. M.M. Kumawat, satisfied the farmers question particularly on rat menace in large cardamom farm and their management. In this continuation farmers also get the opportunity to interact with Dr Sanjeev Kumar narrated about the importance and role of Agro-forestry in large cardamom production, as L. Cardamom are shade loving horticultural crops, so maintain the tree in between cardamom plantation will enhance during any natural calamities which leads to damaged of crops.

Concluding remarks delivered by Smti M. Riba, she impressed with the gathering of heterogeneous group of people i.e.  farm practitioners, farm women, rural youth and VKV student. She urged the farmers to obtain the maximum advantages from this great scheme which was launched by our most dynamic Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi in January 2016. She also stressed upon all relevant issues of the farmers of this region to bring sustainable improvements in production and productivity of the large Cardamom through suitable technological interventions based on inter-disciplinary approach. She also gave specific emphasis on skill based training programmes, post harvest technology etc. That may lead to financial as well as nutritional security. On this occasion, KVK Anjaw has distributed the set of farm implements to all the farmers with this objective to improvise their farm efficacy and reduce the farm drudgery. In this continuation, distribution of prizes was also done by the Deputy Commissioner to the winners’ for their exhibits. At the end, Shri Senpn Ngomle, SMS Plant Protection offered vote of thanks on behalf of the KVK Anjaw.
