KVK West Siang conducts Plant Health Camp

A day long Plant Health Camp for orange orchards was conducted on 29th October, 2016 by KVK West Siang, ICAR A.P-Centre, Basar at Nyodu village of West Siang District for selected orange growing progressive farmers. All together 19 participants including 3 female, 16 male farmers participated in the said programme.
The programme was initiated with the lecture by Dr. Kangabam Suraj Singh, SMS Plant Protection who briefly explained about the needs of Plant Health Camp in orange and methods demonstrated for Bordeaux Paste preparation for post monsoon Bordeaux paste application on the tree trunk. Further technical session was continued by him with the hands-on training on post monsoon Bordeaux paste application on tree trunk of orange. Total numbers of 150 orange trees were applied Bordeaux paste and 25 numbers of trunk borer infected orange trees were treated with cotton swabbing method.
The programme was concluded successfully and farmers appreciated the effort of KVK West Siang for timely intervention in orange tree which are going to die.
