Training programme on “Oyster mushroom cultivation” in Rimrangpara under NICRA Project, ICAR, KVK, West Garo Hills,Meghalaya
Paddy straw is available in NICRA adopted villages after harvesting paddy. To avoid burning of paddy straw and generate additional income during the lean period cultivation of oyster mushroom is being taught to the farmers and farm women. Temperature and relative humidity is congenial for growing of oyster mushroom starting from September onwards hence one day training programme was organized on 19th November 2018 in one of the adopted village under NICRA Project. The training programme was attended by 32 farmers and farm women. Women from nearby villages like Mebonpara also attended the training programme. Detailed cultivation methodology along with demonstration of bed preparation was taken up during the programme. Brochure on cultivation of oyster mushroom in local language was distributed among the participants. Inputs like spawn, HDPE bag, plastic rope etc was distributed among the interested beneficiaries at the end of the training programme.
