National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP) Launched at Churachandpur.
ICAR-KVK Churachandpur organized Launching of National Animal Disease Control Programme for FMD & Brucellosis, National Artificial Insemination Programme and Swachhta hi Sewa by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India on September 11, 2019 at community hall Yaiphakol village, Churachandpur. The programme was organized with an objective for complete control of FMD by 2025 with vaccination and its eventual eradication by 2030 and intensive Brucellosis control in female bovine calves for effective management of the disease in both livestock and in human. Launching of NADCP by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was live telecasted during the programme. 52 nos progressive farmers from different villages of Churachandpur district participated the programme. 40 nos of cattle were also vaccinated.
Gracing the occasion Dr. W. Rajen Singh, CTO (Animal Science), ICAR-KVK Churachandpur welcome the gathering and stressed on the common diseases of domestic animals occurred in the district and its management practices. He also explained the different techniques of artificial insemination.
Sh. Kamkholal, Executive member, MDC Churachandpur, Government of Manipur graced the occasion as chief guest. He encouraged the farmers to maximize the productivity of milk by adopting scientific dairy farming as there is tremendous scope of dairy farming in the state.
Dr. Valte Soma, VO, Department of Veterinary, Government of Manipur discussed to adopt scientific rearing of dairy cattle. He also make aware of economic losses caused by FMD and Brucellosis resulting in huge financial losses and its adverse impact on human health.
Sh. Ph. Chandramani Singh, Senior Scientist & Head (i/c) briefed on newly launched central sector schemes to sensitize the farmers about the recently launched schemes for the welfare of the farming community in the district.
Shri. Ng. Rajen, Advisor, Meitei Society Churachandpur appreciated the efforts of ICAR-KVK Churachandpur for organizing live telecast programme and make aware of new technologies of agriculture and allied sector in his village.
The programme ended with vote to thanks proposed by Dr. N. Johnson Singh, SMS (Plant Protection) ICAR-KVK Churachandpur. Ms. Bs. Hmannihring Anal, SMS (Agroforestry), Sh. L. Basil, Farm Manager and Miss Manngaihkim ICAR-KVK Churachandpur co ordinate for smooth conduction of the programme.
All the staffs Department Animal Husbandry, Government of Manipur provided all assistance for making the programme successful. The District Veterinary Officer also arranged all logistics required for carrying out vaccination and artificial insemination m animals, which include vaccines, technicians, etc.
