Training on scientific Piggery Production with theme “Nutritional security and Livelihood of Tribal Farmers through Improved Piggery” under Tribal Sub Plan was held at Tfraliang Village.

 

Under TSP, 5 days training on scientific piggery production with the theme “Nutritional security and Livelihood of Tribal Farmers through Improved Piggery” was held at Tfraliang village from 30th April - 4th May 2016. All together 38 number including farmers, farm women and rural youths participated in the training programme. Mr S. Peter Singh, Programme Coordinator (I/c) KVK, Anjaw addressed welcome note and motivated the farmers to attend the training, so that long felt queries regarding piggery farming can be sorted out during this five days training programme, followed by introduction round. Second half was resumed with technical session. Dr. Tilling Tayo, SMS, Animal Sciences briefly presented the status of piggery production of India, Northeast and Arunachal to know the current scenario of piggery production in India. Second, third and fourth day of training. Different aspect of housing, rearing method, feeding system, diseases management, breeding and biosecurity management of piggery production was thought through power point presentation.

On the last day of the training programme, Animal Health Camp was organized, during which as many as 73 animal were dewormed and treated for various disease and deficiency disease based on sign and symptom of animal. It was seen that most of the pig were suffering from skin infection due to Ecto-parasite infestation and vitamin and mineral deficiency. Ivermectin injection and vitamin and mineral supplement (Fortimin and Grigold) were distributed to farmers. Concluding the programme, Gao Bura, delivered vote of thanks appreciating the KVK, Anjaw for imparting training and organizing animal health camp for betterment of tribal farming community.
