KVK Ri-Bhoi Celebrated National Productivity Week from 12th to 18th February, 2018
KVK Ri Bhoi under the ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region celebrated the National Productivity Week during 12-18th February 2018 with the expert talk and farmers scientist interaction at ICAR Research Complex, Umiam and KVK Ri Bhoi office respectively. The expert talk was delivered by Dr. U. K. Behera, Dean, College of Agriculture, Kyrdemkulai, Meghalaya. He expressed his ideas on the importance of Integrated Farming System for sustainable livelihood improvement of farming community especially in North Eastern Hilly region of India and also gave important and decisive ideas for the welfare of farmers.. KVK Ri Bhoi also organised farmers scientist interaction where farmers shared their valuable experience of exposure cum training on organic horticultural production at IIHR Bengaluru for improvement of their livelihood with new technology and ideas gathered during the visit. It was followed by seed distribution among the farmers. A visit to farmer’s field was also conducted as part of the programme where farm activities were discussed in detail with on farm suggestion for improved productivity and better income which will also aid in creating a better farming environment.
