KVK West Siang conducts Rabi Vegetable Production Campaign in NICRA-TDC Village through training and seed distribution

A day long training, demonstration and seed distribution programme for rabi vegetable production campaign was conducted on 5th October, 2016 by KVK West Siang team comprised of Dr. Kangabam Suraj Singh SMS-Plant Protection, Miss. Wangnem Rekhung, Prog. Asstt. and Karyom Bam SRF, NICRA- TDC at NICRA-TDC villages Regi, Pagi and Disi. All together 83 participants including Village level climate Risk Management Committee Members Mrs. Nyangam Riba, and Emo Riba from Regi, Minto Riba from Pagi, and Mr. Token Riba, Mrs. Karbom Riba and Mrs. Iluk Riba from Disi. Dr. Kangabam Suraj Singh SMS-PP briefly explained on plant protection measures in vegetable crops and preventive measures while raising nursery and to grow rabi vegetables in Jhum, WRC field and kitchen garden to increase the production and productivity of vegetables in their village to meet their domestic requirement and to earn extra income by selling the surplus vegetables in local markets. Scientific method of growing Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Chinese cabbage, Beet root, Coriander, Pea, Radish, turnip, tomato etc. for crop diversification were demonstrated during training to the farmers. Miss. Wangnem Rekhung Prog. Asstt. Soil Sci. advised the farmers for conducting soil test for their agriculture farm for management of soil nutrient for enhancing crop production and productivity. After technical session rabi vegetables seed were distributed to all participating farmers.
