ICAR-KVK, West Siang experts inspects farmers field of NICRA-TDC project sites

 

Basar, 10th November’2015:  

Agricultural expert team comprised of Scientist and Subject Matter Specialists (SMS) from ICAR-AP centre, Basar has conducted diagnostic cum monitoring visit on NICRA-TDC adopted village at Pagi. Some of the rabi vegetable (Lai patta, coriander, cauliflower, broccoli, radish, tomato, pea, cabbage etc.) seeds has been distributed to the NICRA-TDC project sites (Regi, Pagi & Disi) beneficiaries on 6th October’2015.  The purpose behind the visit to monitoring the progress of farmers vegetable field. The team (Mr. Thejangulie Angami, Scientist- Fruit Science; Dr. M.S. Baruah- i/c, PC; Mr. Debashis Datta-SMS & Smt. Deepa Lal-SMS) observed that poor germination of rabi vegetable seeds due to water stress condition in Smt. Dayir Riba and Mr. Domar Riba’s field, which can hinder the growth of the rabi vegetables. Experts have suggested to the farmers for harvesting of rain water near the vegetables field through making of jalkund. Simultaneously the experts have selected the site for jalkund and low cost polyhouse for off season vegetables grown to increase the income of the farming community.
