Training cum lentil seed distribution under NFSM- Pulse
On 9th Nov. 2015 Krishi Vigyan Kendra (ICAR), Tura organized a training cum lentil seed distribution programme in collaboration with District Agriculture Office, West Garo Hills at Nekikona village of Bhaitbari area under Selsella block in West Garo Hills to increase the area under lentil cultivation in the district under DAC- ICAR- ICARDA project “Enhancing lentil production in Eastern and North Eastern states for nutritional security and sustainable rice based production system in India”. About 5.20 q HYV of lentil seed were distributed to 130 farmers. Besides, an awareness cum training programme on recommended package of practices of lentil was also organized in the village to increase the productivity of lentil in the village. Shri Meril Sangma, Asstt. Director, Deptt. of Agriculture, tura, Shri Tarun. Kr. Das & Shri N. Arun Kr. Singh of KVK, Tura were present in the occasion.
