Multi-disciplinary training at Disi Village by KVK West Siang.

A one day multi-disciplinary training programme was conducted today, on 25th August 2015 by KVK West Siang, ICAR A.P-Centre, Basar at Disi village about 13 Km away from the Basar Town. All together 45 farmers including rural youth and farm women participated in the training programme. The programme was initiated with the welcome address by Smt. Toi Dirchi, ASM Basar Circle, and Block II. Smt. Rita Nongthombam Subject Matter Specialist (Plant Breeding) explained the farmers about role in crop improvement for increasing productivity, why and how to improve their local varieties. Dr. Moloy Sarmah Baruah, Subject Matter Specialist (Animal Science) and In-charge of KVK, West Siang enlighten the farmers about the recent techniques of poultry farming for sustainable income generation for rural farmers. Dr. K. Suraj Subject Matter Specialist (Plant Protection) presented through power point the common diseases, insect pests and their control measures in rice by means of physical, mechanical, biological and chemical methods. The programme was concluded with interaction session on the topic of improvement of field crops, poultry farming and management of common insect pests, diseases in rice.
