KVK West Siang Conducted Multi-disciplinary Farmers Training
KVK West Siang conducted a multi-disciplinary training Programme on 18th June, 2016 at Sago Village of Basar subdivision situated above 1200 msl. Miss. Wangnem Rekhung Programme Assistant, Soil Science explained to the farmers on the topic “Soil Testing: A Key to soil fertility Management” and demonstrated the techniques of soil sampling. After that Dr. Moloy Sarmah Baruah, SMS, Animal Science enlightened the farmers regarding “Livelihood improvement through backyard poultry farming”. On that training SMS-Plant Protection, Dr. Kangabam Suraj Singh briefly explained on “Integrated Disease and Pest Management in Maize”. Altogether 34 numbers of farmers including rural youth, farmer women and progressive farmers were participated on the said training. The training was ended with a farmers’ scientist interaction covering the topics of agriculture and animal husbandry.
Farmers were appreciated the effort of KVK West Siang team and were asking more information in terms of training, field visit and method demonstration in their village.
Mr. Karmar Riram, ASM, Sago Village, lastly offered vote of thanks to the villagers and KVK West Siang team and promising more active participation in near future.
