One day training programme on Mushroom cultivation organized by group XII of Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav

 

An exposure cum training programme on Mushroom cultivation had been organized by group XII of Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav led by Dr. Premila Devi Thongbam on 4th March, 2016 at the field of plant pathology. 16 trainees from the adopted villages Umden Mission (Ribhoi), Umden Arka (Ribhoi), Madan Mawkhar (East Khashi Hills), Umrynjah (East Khashi Hills) and Umphrew (East Khashi Hills) participated. Dr. Pankaj Baiswar, Senior scientist served as trainer explaining the detail procedure and techniques in mushroom cultivation under the All India Coordinated Research Project on Mushroom. He explained the types of mushrooms that are easiest to grow at home as well as field and the method for growing with their different medium. The trainees showed kin interest to practice mushroom cultivation in their respective villages and they requested for immediate implementation in the villages. At the end Dr. K. P. Mohapatra and Mr. N. Uttam singh of the group had one hour interaction with the farmers for the immediate possible improvement in agriculture in the villages and decided to introduce few summer crops.
