ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya Organised Training Programme and distributed inputs in Mawnohsynrum village of Meghalaya under ‘Mera Gaon, Mera Gaurav’ programme.

 

A training programme under ‘Mera Gaon, Mera Gaurav’ programme was organized by ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya (MGMG Group-I) at Mawnohsynrum village, Ri Bhoi District, Meghalaya on 10.03.16 under the leadership of Dr. S.V. Ngachan, Director of the institute. During this  programme, awareness on various crop protection practices, animal husbandry practices and improved farm implements were made by Dr. D.M. Firake, Scientist, Dr. R. Laha, Principal Scientist and Dr. H. Jiten Singh, Scientist of the Institute. Animal Health Camp was also organized after the training progamme. Farmers of this village showed keen interest in these programmes. Besides, various need-based inputs in the form of piglets, seasonal vegetable seeds, spraying machines and bio-pesticides were distributed among the farmers to improve their livelihood. A total 40 numbers of farmers were benefited through these programmes.  A liaison between farmers and Scientists of the institute have been developed through these programmes. At the end Dr. R. Laha, Principal Scientist offered the vote of thanks. These programmes were supported under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) of the Institute.
