Three days training cum diagnostic field visit at Lipu Namchi Village under  Lower Siang District 

 

Three days training programme under NMSHE TF-6 was conducted by ICAR AP centre Basar conducted at the project site viz Lipu Namchi of Lower Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh from 19-21stof February 2018. Programme leader Dr. H.Kalita, Joint Director ICAR AP centre on the first day highlighted the importance of the project for improvement of the tribal famers with emphasis on soil and water conservation measures. Dr. Doni Jini, Scientist (Veterinary extension) Coordinator of the programme delivered lectures on efficient utization of forage feed resources for feeding of cattle, construction of Deep litter house for pigs. Similarly on health aspect some common diseases their prevention and control measure with proper vaccination at different schedule was explained in elaborate manner. Dr. Rajesh A Alone, Scientist, (Agro forestry),Coordinator for agriculture portion delivered lectures on importance of Jalkund for water conservation and emphasized bamboo and toko palm plantation under jhum field as natural barrier to prevent surface run off of soil. Shri Kaushik Bhagawati, Technical officer IMD explained about the effect of weather on agrarian activities. On 3rd day diagnostic field visit was done in the farmer’s field. During which 300 DOC chicks were vaccinated against Ranikhet disease. After the session diagnostic visit was conducted at farmers’ field, during the visit they requested for supply of poultry birds and pigs. Around 31 farmers of the village were provided some implements vegetable seeds like cucumber, pumpkin, bitter gourd ladies finger, soybeans, French bean, chilly along with some bio pesticides and 04 knapsack sprayers. Further for livestock and poultry some veterinary feed supplement, medicines etc were distributed to each of the farmers.
