Kisan Kalyan Karyashala

 

On 2nd May 2018 Kisan Kalyan Karyashala was celebrated at three  different places viz. Selsella, Tura and Rongram covering farmers from all the six blocks of West Garo Hills district. In Tura it was observed in SMELC building Dakopgre which was attended by Shri Benedic R. Marak  honourable MLA of Raksamgre, officials from line departments (Veterinary, Fisheries, Horticulture, Agriculture as well as College of Home Science Tura), Mr. A. S. Singh, Senior Scientist and Head (i/c) of KVK West Garo Hills besides 350 farmers from two blocks Dalu and Gambegre. In Selsella it was observed in Multi Facility Building which was attended by Shri S.G. Esmatur Mominin honourable MLA of Phulbari, officials from line departments (Veterinary, Fisheries, Horticulture and Agriculture), Dr. Joyoshree Mahanta, Asst. Chief Technical Officer(Plant Pathology) of KVK, West Garo Hills besides 230 farmers from two blocks Selsella and Tikrikilla. In Rongram the program was arranged in Multi Facility Centre which was attended by Shri Dipul R. Marak, CEM, GHAD; officials from line departments including Mr. A. K. Singh, SMS (Soil Science) of KVK, West Garo Hills besides 157 farmers from two different blocks viz. Rongram and Dadenggre. In all the three places the program started by briefing the participants with the main objective of the program besides apprising them the theme of the program ie Doubling of Farmers’ Income(DFI) by 2022. Encouraging lectures were delivered by the chief guests of the program. State officials apprised the farmers about various schemes that were being implemented by different departments for the benefit of the farmers. KVK officials took active role in delivering lectures on various approaches towards doubling farmers income, climate resilient technologies, as well as playing various motivational videos related to agricultural activities besides taking active part in Farmers’ Scientist interaction. During the program some of the progressive farmers from all the six blocks were awarded with a memento and a certificate. Finally the program ended with a vote of thanks from officials of ATMA who also happened to be the organiser of the program in all the three places. Overall the program was very successful.
