KVK Anjaw conducted training on Crop Management of Pea for Higher production
Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Anjaw organised a day long training programme on Crop Management of Pea for Higher production at Metengliang on 30th Jan 2016. All together 35 farmers attended the training programme. The program was chaired by Khoisnam Naveen (SMS, Agronomy). During the training programme he stressed upon major problems affecting pea production for higher yield like nutrient management, weeds, major pests and diseases of pea. He also highlighted the importance of pulses crop in human diet as well as in cropping system for improving soil fertility. He urged the farmers for more adoption of other pulses crop production for increasing the area as well as production under pulses crop in the district as area and production under pulses crop are quite low as compared to national average.
Later, Senpon Ngomle (SMS, Plant Protection) and Soibam Peter Singh (SMS, Social Sciences) also spoke about oyster mushroom cultivation and benefits of formation of Self Help group.
