KVK-Longding Imparted training.
KVK-Longding, ICAR for NEH Region A.P Centre Basar, have conducted one day training on “Importance disease in piggery production and its prevention & control measures” at Hasse Russa village, 14 km away from Kanubari on 2 September 2019. Dr. A. Kirankumar Singh (i/c Sr. Scientist & Head KVK-Longding), while delivering well come note to the farmers gathering at Chief (Raja) resident. He brief about the mandates of KVK activities and services that can provide to the farmers at time of need, whenever arises, during farming operations.
Dr. Tilling Tayo, Subject Specialist-Animal Science, KVK Longding. Delivering lecture on “Importance disease in piggery production and its prevention & control measures” through power point presentation by thoroughly discussion regarding commonly available diseases related to piggery production at rural area one by one right from vitamin and mineral deficiency to bacteria, viral and Ecto & Endo parasite infestation, and what are the precaution and control measures. He exhorted that in any livestock production management the acronym; FSH (Feed, Shelter & Health), these three letters must be remember by every farming community for remunerative livestock productions. Although farmers are able to manage, feed and shelter for their animal but health section are almost neglected. Because, of unawareness regarding importance of animal health and different type of diseases that affect the pigs in general. Negligence of piggery health by farmers, many pigs succumbed to disease otherwise which could have treated and save by timely intervention through medications he added.
Mr. Chonii Rangam G.B (Gaon Bura), Husse Russa village, Kanubari, speaking on the daylong training programme. He was overwhelmed by the training programme organized by KVK-Longding, and first kind of training at his village. While appreciating the KVK-Longding officers for such important and basic awareness programme at village level, which is need of hour to update the knowledge on piggery farming and its disease managements. He further requested the KVK office that some pigs are suffering from disease and need to address through treatments with aid of medicine and request to conduct one more programe again at earliest possible to mitigate the morbidity and mortality of pigs.
Mr. Nyakwag Wangsu Chief (Raja), Husse Russa village, Kanubari, while tendering vote of thanks, appreciated both the KVK officers and farmers. He gave emphasis on farmer’s turnout in good numbers to attend the training programme, which shows the importance of training and dedicate to learn more from scientific staff of KVK-Longding and requested the farmers to corporate in days to come for better farming practices for gainful outcome. Altogether 48 farmers attended the said training programme, and other prominent village leaders present were upper G.B and Interim Panchayat committee member.
