KVK, Tura organized Awareness programme on “Promotion of Pulses” under TSP at Resubelpara, North Garo Hills, Meghalaya
KVK, ICAR, Tura organized an awareness programme on “Promotion of Pulses” under TSP at Block Development Office, Resubelpara, North Garo Hills, Meghalaya on 23rd August, 2016 with a participation of 136 farmers from different villages. Smt. June Merrytha. D. Shira, A.H & Veterinary Officer, C&R Block Resubelpara, North Garo Hills District welcomed the participants and encouraged the farmers for showing keen interest in pulse production. Shri Tarun Kumar Das, Subject Matter Specialist (Agricultural Extension), KVK, ICAR, Tura briefed about the importance of pulse cultivation in Garo Hills. He emphasized on the cultivation methods and production potential of black gram & lentil in Rabi season. Shri N.Arunkumar Singh, Subject Matter Specialist (SWCE), KVK, ICAR, Tura stressed upon the nutritional benefits of pulses in our daily diet, prospects, scope and challenges of pulse production in Garo Hills. He discussed about the package of practices of pulses and assured to conduct more training programmes in coming Rabi season for the selected beneficiaries.
