KVK Namsai Conducted Training Programme.
Two numbers of one day training programme has been successfully completed on 09.09.19 organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Namsai (ICAR RC for NEH Region, Arunachal Pradesh Centre, Basar) on “Scientific Cultivation of Blackgram” and “ Scientific Goat Farming” for the Rural Youth and Practising Farmers of Juna-III village. A total of 33 farmers were present in the training.
Mrs. Madhumita Sonowal Bora, SMS (Plant Protection) thoroughly discussed about the concept of scientific cultivation of blackgram. She also discussed about various method of insect pests and disease management of blackgram. During the training, problems faced by farmers in various crops were discussed.
Dr. BKD Borah, SMS (Animal Science) explained about the importance of goat rearing by adopting scientific technology to enhance its productivity. He explained the ongoing project activities entitled “Nutritional security and livelihood improvement through scientific goat farming” at Namsai district funded by NABARD, Itanagar and how they will benefited by this project. He further urged the farmers community to bred their estrus female with the improved variety buck like Sirohi, Jakrana etc. that are available at institutional farm, KVK, Namsai for production of improved cross-bred kid.
The Sr. Sci. & Head, KVK, Namsai Dr. Manish Kanwat further explained the ongoing activities of the KVK and encourages them to adopt organic farming. He also asked them to avail the facilities/ technologies disseminated by this institute.
