Training cum critical inputs distribution at Jumlo village, Siang District under TSP
One day farmers’ training cum inputs distribution programme was organized on 2nd November, 2016 at Jomlo Village, Siang District of Arunachal Pradesh under Tribal Sub plan (TSP). Farmers from different villages attended the programme. The introduction speech about the purpose of the programme was delivered by Dr. Doni Jini, Scientist, (vety.extension), who apprised on the importance of pulse in cropping sytems and also delivered lectures on basics of livestocks rearing. Wherein Shri. Badapmain Makdoh, Scientist, (Agronomy) gave a lecture on rabi pulse and oilseed crops along with their cultivation practices and further gave more emphasis on nutrient management. Shri. Letngam Touthang, Scientist (Plant Genetics) delivered lecture on seed production technology of different field crops which is considered a vital aspect of agriculture in Arunachal Pradesh who further stressed on the abundant resources that the locality possesses. In the field of horticulture, Shri. Thejangulie Angami, Scientist (Horticulture) delivered lecture on cultivation practices of different winter vegetables and scientific citrus management as part of socio- economic upliftment for resource poor local farmers. At the end of the programme, seeds of pulses (pea and lentil), oilseed (mustard and rapeseed) crops and other inputs like plant protection, implements were distributed to farmers.
The farmers of the village highly appreciated the effort by team of scientist of ICAR AP Basar and sought for their active cooperation in coming days.
