KVK Anjaw celebrates Jai Kisan Jai Vigyan
KVK Anjaw celebrates a one day programme on the occasion of “Jai Kisan Jai Vigyan” week 23rd to 29th December, 2016 at Amliang Village on 29th Dec, 2016 as a mark for remembering the birth anniversary of our former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vaspayee (Dec, 25, 1924) and Late Chaudhury Charan Singh (Dec, 23, 1902) who immensely contributed for promoting use of sciences for the welfare of the farmers in the country. Altogether 55 villagers participated in the special occasion including farmers, farm women, rural youths, students and teachers from VKV, Amliang. The programme was started with the welcome address from Prasanta Mahanta, Farm Manager, KVK Anjaw. During his speech, he highlighted the basic ideas behind the celebration of “Jai Kisan Jai Vigyan” week. Dr. Senpon Ngomle, SMS, Plant Protection gave a brief training regarding the cultivation of different kinds of edible mushroom as a part of initiation for providing self employment and income generation among the farm women and rural youths. Mr. S. Peter Singh, SMS, Social Sciences also gave a brief knowledge about the climate change and their impacts in agriculture as a step for providing awareness information among the villagers. Lastly, the programme was concluded with the vote of thanks from the Principal KVK, Amliang.
