Training programme on ‘Instrumental techniques”
Operation and use of different laboratory instruments is key for the laboratory analysis. Keeping this point four days training programme was organized on ‘Instrumental techniques “from 7th to 10th March, 2017 at ICAR RC NEH, Umiam by Soil Science Section, Division of Natural Resource Management Under NICRA Project. Total number of participants were 25 representing different NE states (Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Tripura) working as Technical officers, SMS, RA and SRF from different organizations. The training was started on 7th March, 2017 with the inaugural programme in which, the Honorable Director Dr. S.V.Ngachan was the chief guest. In the inaugural speech, he emphasizes the need of such type of training for the person who is involved in the laboratory analysis. During the training, different lectures (theory and practical) were covered by the scientist working in this institute. Around 10-12 lectures covering a range of instruments like Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy, Lysimeter, SDS-PAGE, Phase contrast microscope, Gas Chromatography, PCR, DNA finger printing, Portable Photosynthetic system, Root image and architecture, HPLC, ELISA, TDR and Quantum sensor etc. were covered during the training.
On the last day, the certificates were distributed to the participants by Dr. Satish Chandra. Head, Crop protection and Director I/C and Dr. S. Hazarika, Head, NRM and PI, NICRA. The training programme were coordinated by Dr. B.C.Verma, Dr. S. Hazarika, Dr. B.U.Choudhury, Dr. P. Moirangthem, Dr. Manoj kumar, and Dr. R. Krishnappa.
