ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region in collaboration with ICAR-ATARI, Umiam along with ICAR-ATARI, Guwahati observed the International Day of Yoga on June 21st , 2017 at the indoor stadium of ICAR Complex. Mr. Abhay Mahajan and Mr. Atul Jain from Deendayal Research Institute, New Delhi facilitated in observance of the mentioned programme by demonstrating the different asanas and pranayamas according to the protocol provided by Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. Mr. Swapan Karamji, Assistant, ICAR RC for NEH Region, also conducted a meditation session for the participants. The yoga session was organized at the indoor stadium inside the ICAR Quarter Complex, Umiam. The session was attended by scientific, administrative and technical staffs of ICAR RC for NEH Region, ICAR-ATARI and faculties of CAU-CPGS, Umiam. After the session, Dr. B.C. Deka, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Umiam and Dr. A.K. Tripathi, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Guwahati felicitated the yoga instructors and addressed the participants about the importance of yoga for the well-being. Dr. Anupam Mishra, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Jabalpur also attended the session. The programme was coordinated by Dr. P.K. Sinha, Scientist (Agril. Extn), Mr. N. Uttam Singh, Scientist (Agril Stat.), Dr. A. Roy, Scientist (Agril. Econ.) and Ms. Anjoo Yumnam, Scientist (agril Econ.).
