KVK Anjaw Conducted Training on IDM and IPM in Large Cardamom

Large cardamom being the most important cash crops in Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh, the inhabitants of this region are totally depend on L.Cardamom cultivation but presently it has been observed that there is huge incidence pest and disease. Keeping these facts in view, KVK,Anjaw organize training on IDM and IPM in Large Cardamom at Sopliang on 27th oct. 2016. The key objective of the training is to broaden the participant’s knowledge on management of pest and disease in Large Cardamom. Altogether 35 farmers including rural youth and women participated in the training programme. Dr. Senpon Ngomle, Subject Matter Specialist (Plant Protection), coordinator of the training programmed delivered his lecture in details about IDM and IPM in Large Cardamom and he emphasized more on organic management methods such as use of bio control agents and botanical. Since foorkey disease is at alarming rate, he suggested farmers to go for selection of healthy and disease free planting materials and ask them to destroy infected suckers by continuous monitoring to their L.Cardamom field. After the lecture delivered, field survey was also conducted along with the participants.
