Field and laboratory visit organized for the M. Sc. (Forestry) students of Mizoram University, at ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Mizoram Centre, Kolasib, Mizoram

 

Field and laboratory visit was organized for the M. Sc. (Forestry) second year students of Mizoram University, Tanhril (Aizawl) on 18th March 2016, aiming to give the practical acquaintance of research and development activities in watershed management under the ‘Forest and watershed management (FOR/2/CC/10)’ course. All total 27 M. Sc. students of the Department of Forestry, Mizoram University attended the programme under the guidance of Dr. K. Upadhyaya (Associate Professor) and Mr. K. S. Kumar (Assistant Professor). Dr. S. B. Singh (Joint Director, ICAR RC for NEH Region, Mizoram Centre) greeted the gathering in inaugural session. Dr. Saurav Saha, Scientist (Agril. Physics) lead the mass to demonstrate the ongoing Research and Development activities in the research farm and central laboratory of ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Mizoram Centre. Later on, Dr. T. Boopathi (Agril. Entomology), Dr. Sudip Kumar Dutta, Scientist (Horticulture), Dr. A.Ratankumar Singh, Scientist (Plant Pathology), Dr. Lungmuana, Scientist (Soil Science) and Mr. Samik Chaudhury (Technical officer, GKMS) gave their sectional presentations on the available technological options under the watershed management module.
