Institute Advisory Committee (IAC) and Site Plan Implementation Group (SPIG) meeting under Farmers’ FIRST Project held on 19th September, 2018 at ICAR RC for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya
A meeting of the Institute Advisory Committee & Site Plan Implementation Group of Farmers’ FIRST Programme (FFP) was held on 19th September, 2018 at ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya. The meeting was Chaired by Dr. K. K. Baruah, Director I/C and Principal Scientist & Head, Division of Animal Production of ICAR RC for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya. Altogether 54 participants were present during the meeting, including farmer representatives of the adopted villages, members of the IAC & SPIG of Institute and State Govt. and Co-PIs of the project.
Dr.R. Laha, P.S. & P.I. FFP, welcomed the gathering by giving a brief introduction and the purpose of the meeting, which was followed by the presentation of the progress of the activities (2017-18) under the project and the action plan for the upcoming activities to be undertaken during the year 2018-19 & 2019-20.A glimpse of the on-going activities in the adopted villages was also presented during the meeting which was followed by a discussion among the participants present in the meeting.
A technical bulletin in Khasi language of organic ginger cultivation, “Ka Jingrep Sying Ha Ryngkat Ki Bor Mariang Haki Thain Shatei Lam Mihngi” authored by H.Rymbai, A.K.Jha, N.A.Deshmukh, S.R.Assumi, D.M.Firake, P.Baiswar, K.Bagish, P.K.Sinha and R.Laha was also released during the meeting.
The achievements were praised by the chairman and the members of the IAC and SPIG committee. The meeting came to a close with the vote of thanks given by Dr. P. Baiswar, Sr. Scientist and Co-PI, FFP.
